The Middle Brow

No, I am not talking about the beige fluffy feelers in between my two muddy slugs.

'The Middlebrow' is a term created by the BBC to describe a culture of people who are hoping that some day they will get used to the stuff they ought to like. Sourced from Wikipedia.

Now, that sounds awfully sad, so I am going to introduce you to a product for your actual brows, that I have no doubt you will actually like.

Welcome to the floor, the GOSH Long Lasting Brow Pen in Wheat 004.

With the unique, skinny, 'felt tip- esque' type nib- it can make your brows look polished and precise. The key to this pen is the water like consistency and sheer tone. You can fill in your brows like you would a colouring book, without the anxious worry of going outside the lines. The marker pen has an extended drying time, enabling brow beginners the luxury of cleaning up with a cotton bud if errors occur.

I've Been Bitten!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain ~ Romantic

On the Lips! Instagram~ LizFish1

This little chubbie number is the high streets take on the increasingly popular lip crayons. For just £5.00 now at Boots, you can create a chic red lip in seconds.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that you can apply 'sans mirror', but pretty darn close! The buttery smoothness of this product, combined with the child- like, giant crayon applicator makes the painting of your pout effortless.

The combination of balm to stain ratio is spot on, making this a much more desirable product for me than your standard lip stains, or Revlon's previous beauty offering the Colorstay lip stain+balm combo. I have found these previous products inferior; the stain dries my lips followed by the balm clinging, making for a most unattractive kisser.

Swatched! Ring shown is from Cos
In the tube

Apply repeatedly through out the day, for a gorgeous Romantic red shine to your mush. Use a light hand for a subtle sheen, or whack it on for a full on Ruby red pout. I, obviously prefer the latter. What do you think of Revlons Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stains? Have you been Bitten?

Must thank my good friend EmilieClarke for sending me this gorgeous product, all the way from beautiful Vancouver!

Product Review: Back to BASICS

Never has an eyeshadow palette been more highly anticipated!!! I exaggerate. The imminent release of a shadow neutrals palette gets 'bbloggers' (aka coolest club ever) across the globe giddy with excitement.

Buttery, smooth pigment, pressed into neat little rectangles, collated together with a massive mirror. What is not to love???

In all seriousness this is a great product to add to your ever growing collection. This palette has many a purpose, can take you from day to night and is small enough to pop in your oversized, fashion tote.

Please see the video below where I ramble on about how much I love it, where you can get it and how I apply it.

As if that wasn't enough, I also took pictures of the darn thing. Palette, shadows and swatches- I spoil you.

I got mine here from Debenhams online!

What do you think of the UD Naked Basics Palette? I say, you should join the cult.

These Past Seven Days (15)

I love Sundays. Mine involve- laundry, food prep, a lil work out, lounging and a big, fat roast at the end of it all. How can you not love that?!

Had a good week- every Christmas treat has been consumed and clean eating has resumed (80% of the time). Having combined this with four good training sessions this week, I am feeling refreshed, energised and motivated.

Me and the Madre treated ourselves to January pedicures yesterday at a salon local to us- £25 and you come out with feet soooooo baby soft its unreal! Although braving the almost sub zero conditions in my flip flops was not ideal.

I gots a busy week ahead. Stock take prep at work, heading to the Royal Opera house on Wednesday night for a spot of Ballet (get me!) and my first EVER wedding dress appointment at a Boutique on Saturday with my Bestie. Fabz all round.

Below is my weekly round up in pics, enjoy!

Lovely scarves HannahBelle sent me :) hannahbelle.co.uk

Fave new statement piece- Tri metal necklace from TopShop i got for Chrimbo

Product Review: MAC Cosmetics Stereo Rose

Mineralize Skinfinish: Stereo Rose

Ah, the return of Stereo Rose (fist pump!).

I didn't manage to get my hands on this blushing beauty first time around (sad face) and alas this is the joys of limited edition collections.

BUT, this time I was not going to miss out.

With a counter at my work place, I swiftly galloped down the escalators, swiped the little black box, whipped out the card and made a purchase.

I did not blink, breathe or speak until I got my 'beauty addict' mitts on the heavenly, domed creature.

So what do I think?

This does not disappoint. One swatch and I was sold. I am a huge fan of the mineralize skinfinishes- one easy sweep with a MAC 187 provides you with a sheer flush of colour with a beautiful sheen across your cheekbones.

I am not one for a bold blush colour, I prefer to contour the eff out of cheek bones with Benefits Hoola or MAC Harmony blush and then add a subtle blush with MAC Pearl CCB for highlight. If you like an English rose flush, the skinfinishes may not be for you, or you may
just choose to add this as a powder highlight after your blush. You decide.

What does MAC Cosmetics say about it?

Stereo Rose: Coral with golden/ bronze shimmering nuances £21.50 10gA luxurious velvet- soft powder with high- frost metallic finish. Smoothes on: adds buffed- up highlights to cheeks, brows, anywhere on the body: provides an ultra- deluxe polish to the skin.

Precisely. Now onto the good stuff-

From the left...

Slightly off..

In the pan...

Stereo Rose boxed! Apply with a MAC 187 brush.

What do you think of MAC Mineralize Skinfinish? Will you be purchasing Stereo Rose or anything else from the Apres Chic collection? Recommendations accepted.

Outfit of the Day: The AA Disco Pants

The famous American Apparel Discosssssss. I know they are certainly not everyones cup of tea, especially the way I have style them, but I have worn them frequently and thought if I am going to blog about them, I want to give my viewers/ readers a different look to view.

A LOT of YouTubers have these pants... but in 'real' life I am yet to have a friend or see someone on a night out in the same pair of trousers... and since everyone in the blogosphere styled them with a lace black body and a pair of JC Litas I decided to give you something different.

I am a glamour girl, and rarely sport the geek, grunge minimal make up look and trust me... I am no convert, but on a Sunday I like to wear minimal make up to let my skin 'breathe' (it doesn't actually, i hate this terminology!) and give my lashes a break. In this video I am wearing concealer, brow marker and lip balm... cray cray. I cannot provide full detailed links of where you can purchase all of my items shown in the video as a lot are no where near recent, but I have given similar alternatives to help you replicate the look.

Where to get it? Links provided.
Topshop Tribal Jumper SIMILAR
Topshop Cropped Top
American Apparel Disco Pants
Topshop Boots
Topshop Geek Glasses
Topshop Owl Pendant
Topshop Bangle SIMILAR
Casio Vintage Gold Watch

Would you rock the AA Discos? How do you style them?
