November GlossyBox 2013: Wishlist Edition

So, it’s been a while since my last Glossybox* and first impressions are AMAZE! Thoroughly enjoying the newly improved Glossy mini mag and its matching product info card. A million miles better than the newspaper style paper pamphlet AND it still remains as informative as ever.

Now, lets get down to the nitty gritty- what’s actually inside the box?

Yves Rocher: Cocoa and Raspberry Moisturising Hand Cream (full size in box)
£1.95 for 75mls available at
Errrrr BARGAIN! A little goes a long way with this hand cream- I tend to be overzealous and squeeze out wayyyy to much. But, even when I do the product still sinks in beautifully and does not leave my hands feeling super slippery and greasy. AND the smell is sooo good- bit jel that other ladies got to sample the cocoa and pistachio ( I LOVE nutty scents!) but this is a firm desk drawer fave.

Elegant Touch Nail Polish Remover Pads
£2.03 for 20 pads available at
Not bad, not my fave method of nail varnish removal so I’m on the fence about this one. Hands down THE best removal method for ‘on the go’ is the Bourjois magic nail thingy ma-jiggy. Don’t get me wrong- it works fine, but it leaves your hands mega slimy and would need a good wash afterwards. On the plus side it contains vitamin E which should counteract the dryness induced by the acetone. J

Connock London Fragrance
Single sample included, more details at
Who? Never heard of Connock fragrances- sample I got smells of granny. Bit peeved that other subscribers to the box have featured a B. complete long lasting nail polish, but the box is kindly sent to me for review so no complaints here. Although… if I was a paying subscriber and did my homework, read blog posts and saw that others got a full size nail polish it would grate on me. Agree? Too harsh?

Vichy Idealia Life Serum (3 samples in box)
£29.50 for 30mls available at
Now Vichy is a brand I like. I struggle to test serums to the max as I would ideally like to use them of an evening and unfortunately I have to use my acne treatment at night. It does feel good though! The look of it reminds me of MACs strobe liquid- it has the same pearlescent appeal which will give your skin an extra little something instantaneously. Does it make you appear younger, healthier and more rested like it claims? Not convinced, but I think it would take more than 3 little samples to prove the long term benefits.

Emite Make Up Micronized Eye Shadow- Nect
£16.80 for 1.48g available at
Hadn’t heard of Emite before this Glossy- so I took to Google to have a peruse. The brand looks very interesting- I wouldn’t say that this sample eye shadow shows off the brand to its full effect- the Swedish company contains some divine looking products made by artists for artists. The colour I received Nect will be perfect for highlighting which I do daily. Winner.

What do you think of this months Glossy? Super pumped for some of their new bits coming in 2014. Check out twitter trend #glossyboxdinner and check out the latest goss from Bloggers like @Really Ree J

The Hyaluronic Acid and Collagen ingredients really help to bring a vitality and plumpness to my skin making me look well rested and baby smooth. I use it as an express- type treatment before heading out, just pop onto cleansed skin, including the eye contour for 10 mins and rinse! Et Voila!

It Features Age Benefit technology, gen-control, fibro-repair and Calcilium as well as specific night-time active ingredients, marine extracts and biomimetic peptides. Laden with Age Benefit technology, fibro-repair and biometric peptides, this works through the night to help bring you a radiant complexion by dawn. Supersize Vitamina suractivee hand cream (400ml) This rich yet lightweight formula intensely moisturises hands and cuticles, and acts like a glove, forming a light, protective, conditioning film to help keep your skin soft and smooth. Special Size Age Benfit Moisturiser (30ml) helping to improve the texture of dry skin by promoting elasticity. Knee Deep in the Deadlift.

New In: Reebok Knee Socks

So, I know I don't tend to chat much about my fitness life, but honestly it is HUGEly important to me.  I have a great passion for working out- its makes me feel strong, healthy and empowers me.

I have always been active- I went to stage school from the age of three and growing up I ventured into Karate, Swimming, Gymnastics, Cross Country, Athletics, Yoga- you name it I did it!

But it wasn't until last year that I discovered Crossfit. When I first saw the Reebok commercials on UK tv, I said out loud to my Husband- "I wanna do THAT!". So we did :) We completed our fundamentals course at Crossfit Bold in Earlsfield and I have trained in a Crossfit way since then. My husband fell so in love with the sport that he is now a Crossfit Level 1 trainer and is the process of opening his own box. Awesome right?!

Last week he visited the brand spanking new Reebok Fit Hub in Covent Garden and loved it.  He went along to chat to the Reebok team and I asked for him to fulfil one teeny tiny request. BUY ME

Why you ask? because bruised shins are not sexy.

Reebok Knee Sock RRP £8.00

Product Code: Z73705

Bad ass Unisex Knee Socks.
I love a good fitness purchase! Being a #fblogger means that my desire to look fierce in the gym is essential. And why the hell not?! Gone are the days where women would rock up to workout in their boys baggy tee and faded leggings. I want to feel good in my clobber, and more importantly it needs to be functional. Reebok Crossfit gear is just that- its designs move with your body and the fabric and colour choices allow to get a good bead on and still look good :) Its a win, win situash!

Shoes: Reebok Nano 2.0s, Socks: Reebok Knee Socks Z63764, Tanned and Tones Pins: Models Own.

Reebok Knee Sock Delta Mono Sock Feapur/Cripur RRP £8.00
If you want to rock Reebok Knee Sock you can pick them up here. But might I recommend you pick up a girly shade? The hubs has already sported my black/ red ones :(

Team them with your fave Nanos and then #getlifting :)

Nano Technology!

Hair care just got scientific!!!

Let me introduce you to my new hair care regime :) I love my long, brunette locks- but the truth is sometimes it can look dry and a tad unruly. My prayers were answered when this landed on my door step. The Nanokeratin System* is amaze balls. It smoothes, without straightening ( I actually enjoy my little kinky waves) and manages to give my hair incredible shine without weighing it down.

It gently cleanses my hair, without stripping it of its natural gloss and I think this has a lot to do with the omitting of SLS (sodium laurel sulphate- most common foaming agent in all cosmetics). I'm not gonna lie, its hard to feel well and truly squeaky clean when the foaming action is non existent, but it really does work. I think we all need learn that stripped faces, bodies and hair does not mean healthy.

Queue the pictures :)

It's a Sure thang!!

Mini, yet VERY Mighty!

Whipped my little hand-bag hero out for a good testing this week at my new Ashtanga Yoga class (AKA sweat fest)!!! As part of my #SureCompressed* beauty challenge I have been sporting the newly improved protection formula in Sure's cotton fresh deodorant/ antiperspirant.

This little guy packs a BIG punch- you get as much product in a teensy little compressed can as its bigger brother AND you smell better for longer. Buddha agrees.

Sure* Compressed, the warrior of all deodorants. 75ml RRP £2.19 from all major stockists.
Organic Living Pumpkin Candle (TKMaxx), Sure* Compressed, Buddha.
I spritz my pits with the Cotton Dry scented deodz twice daily, once in the a.m. and once before sweating commences. I probably wouldn't even need to- but the compressed can is so easily transported in my Michael Kors that I go for. AND the scent is just right- not too offensive, I wouldn't want the scent to overpower the incense burning when I am doing my sun salutations :) #Om

I am loving my new beauty essential, it is perfect for women on the go. Sure definitely has not let me down; it really is a Sure thang. Can you count on your deodorant? Let me know in the comments below.

Finally, a big thank you to Sure*, Mischief PR and The Engine Group for supporting me in my Beauty Challenge. I have loved every beautifully scented part of my Astanga course. Particular shout out to Hayley and Indigo for organising everything for me. LizFish1 xxx

Are you Sure?

Life's little essential goes micro!

There are a fare few beauty must haves on my list, but my top priority is feeling clean and fresh ALL DAY LONG!

Sometimes I muster up a bit of a funk (shock horror!)... Us working girls have to pack a lot into our week and sometimes this means getting a little heated! I have decided that I need to be Sure I smell good 24/7, so I've teamed up with Sure to put their new Sure Compressed* to the test!

Sure Compressed* Ultra Dry in Cotton

Their new range is now HALF the size of their trusty original, and I want to find out whether the efficacy of the little guy is a big and powerful as its older brother. I am going to go straight from my desk to the yoga studio and hope that after 60 minutes of downward dogs and sun salutations, I remain cotton fresh.

The new formulation works with your movement to provide you with 17% better dryness, PLUS because it's only mini sized I can pack this in my Prada for bursts of freshness throughout the day!

Sure Compressed* RRP £2.19 in stores now
Sounds good right??? Well be Sure to check back here on my blog to found it how I smell after my Yoga challenge!!

Here, There, Errywhere

You Don't Know Where You're Going, Until You Know Where You've Been.

Sorry for my lack of posts of late. With the pox, new job and going on hols next week, little LizFish1 has been busy!!!

I have a haul video filmed, edited and ready to go- BUT it is 20 mins long. This means that it will take an age to upload (all HD baby!) and as I leave for Portugal at 3.30am (INSANE!) tomorrow morning and am out ce soir this may not be poss.

I will however promise to take many a pic (when I am clothed, NO beach shots!) of the fam and I in the glorious Algarve and possible try to convince my bro to do 'The Sibling Tag'. He is unfortunately younger and cooler than me, so he may not agree- but I will lay the pressure on thick.

Also I have tweeted and such like that I have a new job which I am loving so far- the new team are lovely and I can't wait to get stuck in! This does however mean I am quite exhausted of an evening and coinciding that with trying to put the time in at the gym to lose my 'chicken pox induced fluff' AND the fact I am trying to organise a wedding in four months has been proving tricky.

I do promise normal scheduling will resume soon- Pinky Swear.

Hope you all had a great May, isn't the year flying by? Are you holidaying anywhere soon?

Happy Birthday GlossyBox!!!

'Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday to ya, Happy Birthday to yaaaaaaa'

Little Miss GlossyBox turned into a right stroppy toddler on May 10th... NOT! I honestly want to wish all of the Glossy Girls a very happy second birthday, thank you so much for supporting me as a blogger for the past two years- the arrivals of your beautifully colored boxes* over the past year has been a joy to unwrap!

Birthdays also equal presents, so lets get into the good stuff.

Happy Birthday Glossies!

L-R La Roche- Posay Anthelios XL 50+ Dry Touch Gel- Cream, Stone Beauty Body Lotion, Headline Colors Poolside Party Nail Varnish, BM Beauty Prime & Create mixing medium and Jelly POng POng Fairy Lashes Mascara)

Great wand close up!

Right up my street- can't wait to test this in the Portugal heat in June!

Top of the Box LA ROCHE- POSAY 50+ Anthelios XL 50+ Dry Touch Gel- Cream.

I have to admit that I am not the best sun protection wearer. I do understand that sun beds and repeated burning of your skin is sinful, but and its a big BUT- everyone is so SUN SCARED at the moment, that people are becoming seriously Vitamin D deficient.

So much so, that I take Vitamin D3 daily and have the odd sun bed in the winter months. More and more of us are now working indoors- sometimes with no windows (ME!) and only getting some rays on our annual weekly holiday abroad (ALSO ME!). I totes agree that sun damage is not hot, but I do encourage people to be sun safe. Catch some rays, stay hydrated, don't burn and enjoy it!!!

That being said- I have particularly sensitive 'face skin' (good use of the english language liz!) at the mo due to being infested with chicken pox, so I do wanna enter the sun carefully for my first rays of 2013 when I hit the beautiful Portugese Algarve in June. What I am trying to say is, I may give this a good road test :)

Do you wear sunscreen daily? Is your Birthday coming up? What was your Top of the Box this month? Let me know in the comments below.

Don't forget to follow the Glossies on all of their social media sites are these are running a particularly high amount of comps at the moment to celebrate their birthday! Glossy tweets, facebook, instagram and pinterest.
