Make Up Storage Collection

Hi Everyone,

New video up this week on my You Tube channel is my Make Up Storage collection!

A few questions or comments that I have had with regards to this video are below-
  1. The nail varnish I wearing in the video is Sparrow me the Drama by OPI- you can see a recent blog post I composed on this new collection below!
  2. The dressing table was purchased direct from the furniture supplier as my Fiances parent own a Garden centre which stocks this range, so they ordered an extra one for me! But I have found an exact copy online for you all- click here!
  3. The faux leather black storage stool is from a shop here in the UK called Argos- I, again have found a link to the item online- click here!
If you have anymore questions do not hesitate to ask!
Heres the vid-

This video was filmed on my Kodak Easyshare MD41 so may appear a little different to my other videos!

Hope you are all having a great LONG weekend!

Love,
Liz

Summer Fruit Crumble

Hi Everyone,

Today I have a slightly different post for you all... As you get to know me better, you will discover that I am a foodie... Or to put it simply, I love eating... And I love eating a certain type of food.... This food would be baked goods... Cupcakes, Big Cakes, Pastries, Bread..... I could go on forever! With this food habit, one has to be careful to find a healthy food balance, and so a simple, home baked dessert that I have learnt to enjoy is a fruit crumble! The fruit crumble I made most recently contained strawberries and blackberries, but the fruit possibilities are endless.... apple and rhubarb, apricots, blueberries, pears..... you get the jist!

Ingredients-
Fruit of your choice (I chose Strawberries and Blackberries) 600 grams
Oats 1 Cup
Unsalted Butter 1 Cup
Plain Flour 1 Cup
Sugar (I like to use soft brown sugar) 1 Cup
Pecans (Use can skip this ingredient or mix up the nut choice!) 2 Handfuls

How to-
Wash blackberries and add to an oven proof dish...
Wash, de- stalk and halve the strawbz...

Add over the blackberries...

Add one cup of sugar to a large glass bowl...

Add 1 cup of oats and 1 cup of flour to the sugar...

Finally add 1 cup of soft unsalted butter...Then rub all of the ingredients together between your thumbs and forefingers...

I like to add pecans to the top of my crumble to add extra crunch and a nutty flavour...

Add the crumble mixture to the prepared fruit... don't worry if the crumble clumps, this will settle in the oven...

Last pre oven shot...

After being oven baked for around 20 mins.... Just ensure your crumble is golden brown (oven temp 180C)

The finished dessert! I like to enjoy mine with a dollop of greek yogurt!
Hope you all enjoyed this food related post!
You can also enjoy this dessert with yogurt, custard, ice cream......

What's your fave relatively HEALTHY dessert?
Love,

OPI Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides Collection

Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all well.
Todays post is dedicated to a nail varnish collection I am absolutely in love with. I have always adored OPI polishes.
For me, they are by far the richest, creamiest, most opaque, smooth varnishes out in the pro and retail market. The formulation is spot on, and the brush applicator is large, flat and with a tapered edge, making it so easy to create a perfectly smooth varnished cuticle area.
My OPI varnishes also last the longest on the nails (ensuring I use my seshe vite base and top coat!) and keep well- despite getting old and hot.
Please find below images of the miniature collection I purchased online- the miniature collections are a great way to try lots of new OPI colours without breaking the bank- and honestly I have only ever used up two of the larger sized OPI bottles so this ensures that you can get your nail shopping fix without the guilt!
Enjoy!

My favourite shades in the collection would have to be either Planks a Lot (this colour reminds me of Violet creams... yum!) or Stranger Tides- it resembles a putty or clay cream!

Have any of you purchased this collection?
How do you feel about the OPI miniatures?
Do I need to try Mermaids Tears???

Outfit Of The Day!

Hi Everyone,
Here is a little Outfit Of The Day/ Night for you all. I wanted to show you guys how you could wear a lightweight jacket, that you may feel isn't technically wearable and mix it up! Hope this provides you with a little style inspiration!

Mother of Pearl Toy Watch, Topshop multi strand navy 3 metal necklace, engagement ring.

Topshop Navy ribbed tank top. Topshop pale pink, high waisted, cropped, carrot shaped trousers. H&M cropped patterned waterfall jacket. Primark brown leather handbag and Topshop white brogues.

So... after my day out, my fiance and I went out to a local indian restaurant with friends and as the weather turned a bit chilly, I decided to pop on some jeans, but keep the look of the outfit similar. I popped on my Abercrombie jeans, Primark turquoise stone necklace, Topshop navy embellished pumps and Topshop navy tunic and off I went!

Primark turquoise stoned necklace.

Hope you enjoyed this post everyone!

What is your favourite H&M item?

Lots of Love,

Blushing Bride

Hi Everyone,

My Best Friends Emily and Ben got married on the 29th April, and I had the pleasure of making up the Bride on her special day.

Me on the left and the gorgeous bride Emily on the right!

Picture of myself, showing my recreated look!

And again...

Annnnnndddd last one promise!
Please read below for an in depth list on what products I used and how I applied these on Emily for her wedding day-

Face-
Chanel Prolumiere foundation in the shade number 30, applied with a Sigma F80 brush.
MAC NC35 studio finish concealer around the corners of her nose and mouth area, applied using a Sephora Professional brush (much like the MAC 224)
MAC NW25 under the eyes applied using a Sephora Professional brush (much like the MAC 224)
MAC cream colour base (ccb) in the shade Pearl. I applied this using my ring finger to the tops of her cheek bones, down the bridge of her nose, cupids bow ad directly above the beginning of her eyebrows and brow bones.
MAC blush creme in the colour lady blush onto the outer apples of the cheeks blend up onto the check bone. I apply this I used a MAC 187 brush.
MAC Prep and Prime finishing powder was used to set the make up and provide longevity using a Louise Young powder/ blush brush.
MAC Harmony Contour powder applied under the cheekbones, jaw line and temples using a MAC 138 tapered face brush.
MAC Melba Blush on top of the MAC blush creme to set the cheek colour again using MAC 138.
Dior Amber Diamond Highlighter was then used on the tops of her cheekbones using the MAC 138 to set the MAC ccb.

Eyes-
MAC Painterly paint pot applied from roots to brow bone to act as a e/s primer.
MAC e/s Patina was applied all over the lid (MAC 227)
MAC Charcoal brown was run through the eyebrows to add definition and also placed in the crease and along the lash line (MAC 266, Louise Young LY38B)
MAC Stubborn brown powerpoint pencil was applied to the waterline and also the upper lashline.
No mascara or false lashes were applied as the Bride already had eyelash extensions applied the day prior to her wedding.
Benefits eye bright was applied and blended along the brow bone and also the inner corner of the eye to add a brightness.

Lips-
The brides lips were lined with MAC subculture to add definition and provide a long lasting tint to the lips.
Plink! was applied all over the lips and Patisserie over top as Emily felt on the day that the lips were to light next to her white dress.

To finish off I set everything with MAC fix+.

Click the link below if you would like to see a tutorial on how I created the spring bridal look- please note that I do not own all products used on Emily on her wedding day, so some improvisation was necessary.

Anyone else getting married soon???

Weekend Adventures

Hi Everyone,

Last Saturday the rents took me into town :)
My popz wanted to visit a very popular coffee shop Monmouth Coffee and then we mooched around Borough Market sampling home grown delights!
Here is what I caught on camera-

Monmouth Coffee beans! (needless to say, we bought some!)

No, I did not indulge in Monmouth baked delights!

Latte art!

Mum and Popz enjoying an extra shot Latte and and extra shot white Americano

Monmouth shop front- Look a that queue! Well worth it though, and it moved super fast!

mmmmmm chocolato!

I want some!

I bought and consumed a walnut brownie.. sooo tasty!

How cute is this Cinnamon Elephant?!

It totally does! Pic seen in Paul Smith store.

My afternoon snack consisted of a Vanilla Rooibos tea and a vanilla creme doughnut from Neals Yard Dairy!

Hope you all enjoyed the picture heavy lifestyle post! I love reading blogs not only beauty/ fashion related, but getting to know the person behind the blog... and as I can waffle on, I decided to publish a non- wordy post!

What did you all do this weekend?
