Valentine Belle

The Valentines GlossyBox*

I love anything with a theme. Parties, Beauty Boxes, Parties.... You get my drift. Seriously though, who doesn't love a cohesive genre running through something or other to make it feel that LITTLE bit more spesh?

I give you the February 2013 Valentines GlossyBox.

Left to Right- Docteur Renaud ~Raspberry Soft Cream. Helen E Cosmetics ~ Moisturising Lipstick. Narciso Rodriguez ~ for her l'eau. Micabella Cosmetics ~Mineral Blush Powder. MeMeMe Cosmetics ~Beat the Blues. GlossyBox ~Heart Lolly.

Star prize goes to the Narciso Rodriguez l'eau for her. This a sexy, pepped up classic, with notes of traditional citrus, a symphony of floral and a heart of musk. Launching nationwide next month is is tipped to become a particular fave amongst Brides? How they came up with that I am not sure, but it is definitely a very sensual fragrance.

Will you be ours? Er, yeah I will actually.

Let GlossyBox treat you this month at www.glossybox.co.uk

Jacava London Nails

Blueberry Muffin ~ Candy Floss ~ Crimson Crush

Pay attention because this is seriously one of the best finds of 2013. You ready?

I have been 'Jacava'd'.

I entered the Feel Unique/ Jacava* collab competition recently and WON. Yes I am lucky, but the discovery of this nail varnish brand heavily out ways my giddiness of winning prizes.  Jacava London are a polish brand which follow a free from policy. Their stunning varnishes do not include 8 of the biggest cosmetics nasties (Formaldehyde, Camphor, Toluene, DBP, Collophane, Phthalates or Animal Ingredients). The nail lacquer gives a serious high gloss, opaque, luxe vibe and get this- the print on the bottle is 22 carat gold.

Yeahhhhhh you read it right- GOLD.

Would you support this London design and manufactured product? If you are even the slightest bit unsure- just take a look at the pictures below.

Thank you feelunique.com

Part Time Paleo (4)

So basicallllllyyyyyyyy I am a top notch Chef... Just call me Chef Fish.

JOKES! My boyf Physio_Matt (follow him on twitter!) thinks I am the best cook ever OBVZ- but I think this maybe because Matt is always starving and I can serve him the blandest meal ever and I still get heaps of compliments.

If you are an avid reader of my blog (thanks!) then you may know that for the past year or so I have tried to adapt to a paleolithic/ primal way of eating. I have been given a recent kick up the butt by Matt. He recently became of Crossfit Level 1 trainer and whilst on this course he learnt a lot more about primal eating and the zone diet and became an instant convert!

Simply this means a diet consisting of meat, vegetables, nuts, seeds, little fruit and no sugar.

I obviously include weekly cheats, and the cheats I allow myself correlate to the amount of exercise I have completed. I digress...

Here is an awesome, simple, quick meal to make that appeals to the taste buds as well as complying to the primal way of eating. I present to you- Coconut Tilapia with roasted red peppers  on a bed of spinach. Recipe below the mouth watering images :)

Recipe

  • Tilapia. Sprinkle the little fillet with the following- salt, pepper, coriander, desiccated coconut, jalepeno peppers and red chilli powder. Bake in the oven on 180 (fan assisted oven) until the flesh is opaque.
  • Red Peppers- deseed and then season with salt, pepper, red chilli powder and EVOO. I think half x2 cherry tomatoes and let these roast inside with a little sprinkling of fresh garlic. Roast in the oven for approx 30 mins on 180 (fan assisted oven) or until the peppers begin to charcoal and curl slightly.
  • Spinach- wash and then steam- NO nonsense spinach!

Hey presto! Bon appetite peeps! What do you think of the primal/ paleo food regime? Any recipe ideas for me? Leave them in the comments below!

Draw My Life!

Hi Guys!!!

Sooooo... I was tagged by the beautz Erica from EricaFae on YouTube to do the 'Draw My Life' tag. I was a tad apprehensive TBH- reasons why below.

1. I cannot draw- which is crucial to the success and/ or enjoyment of the video.
2. I do not wish to spread negativity or touch on too many deeply personal times in my life- which when compared to others, mine may seem to gloss over or just not even mention tough of 'touching' subject areas.

That being said I have divulged a LOT- and this whole process of sitting down and drawing pivotal points in your life has really made me appreciate what is important, and that is honestly- as CRINGE as it may be, is the health and happiness of my loved ones!

I hope you enjoyed this tag video and if you have any others that you would like me to film, please leave a comment below and I will add it to my ever growing 'to do' list. Video wise- this is getting particularly long at the moment and that is purely because I have chicken pox at the mo. In fact, I have had them for 10 days now and have signed off of work for a further few.

BUT- strangely enough I don't that feel too bad, I finished my week of antiviral meds yesterday so I feel a lot better! Hope to be no contagious and back to wearing make up very soon. Thank you for all your well wishes on my Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Lots of Love,

Undress Your Skin by MUA

All your answers to achieve a flawlessly radiant complexion!

The beautz from MUA have released a great new range of super affordable products to help you achieve a flawless looking make up look.

The range includes three base products and also an amazing neutral eyeshadow twelve pan palette. I popped along to Superdrug a while back when the products were fresh on the shelves to give this range a go. I have previous experience with MUA products and always find them a delight- the heaven and earth eyeshadow is one of my faves.

Primer: Just one pump smoothed over your skin creates a smooth base ready for the application of your foundation. The silicone based gel fills in pores and fine lines to prep your skin to perfection. I like this product, but I don't LOVE it. My favorite primer of all time however is the very pricey, high end Hourglass Mineral Veil primer (thank you Wendy Schwartz!!!). I agree that it smoothes the skin, but the aid of foundation staying power is questionable. Can I really complain when its priced at £5.00?? No.

Highlighting Powder: This lightweight baked powder glides over skin when applied with a light hand equipped with a stippling brush. I choose to apply with my MAC 187 and dust over the high points of my face- cheek, brow bone, bridge of my nose and cupids bow. This product could rival the famous MAC mineralized skin finishes for a smidgen of the price. It creates a beautiful opulent luminescence for just £3.00!!!

Undress Me Too Palette: This palette is a great addition to my ever growing collection of nude shadows. I am a neutrals girl at heart with a strong affection for shimmering inner corner highlights a soft golden/ bronzey tones on my lid. I may even push the boat out and go for a smokey gunmetal of an evening! Eccentric I know! Great smooth shadows with amazing pigment pay off for a drugstore brand. My faves are Shy, Wink and Obsessed- some bloggers are even rivaling this palette to the famous Urban Decay Naked palettes! You can't twist to arm to make that bold of a statement, BUT I do love it and for £4.00 you can't go wrong.

Have you tried this new range from MUA? Are you a neutral eyeshadow lover like me?

Liz.

All items can be purchased from MUA website. 3 for 2 on all new face products.

Spring Fever GlossyBox

This month GlossyBox* have teamed up with the beautz fashionista Pearl Lowe! The box design is inspired by her love of all things vintage.

This box will force you into spring with Beauty Hero brands such as Essie, Nip + Fab and MODELCO!

My fave product this month is Essie's nail varnish in 'Nice is Nice'. I am a big fan of Essie polishes and this one does not disappoint! This beautiful, creamy lilac has just a tint of grey- which makes it very London- spring appropriate! Us LDN folk know how fickle British weather can be right?

Check out my snaps below of this months Spring fever GlossyBox*! Don't forget to tweet your thoughts to them @GlossyBoxUK using the trend #myglossybox

Dry Skin Body Butter in Pastachio- GORGEOUS! I want Mango or Coconut Latte next!

SunSense Daily Face SPF- would use to prime and nothing else.

Cheek and Lip tint in Rosy Red. I'm not really a tint fan- but a touch on your apples if heading to the beach would be cute :)

So Elixir Purple Yves Rocher EDP- Tuberose, Vetiver and Patchouli. NIicccccceeee

Essie's Nail Lacquer in Nice is Nice. It is just that.
On the talons- apologies for bad iPhone pic :)
